Press Release of Golden Jubilee Bangladesh Concert 2022
fardeen islam2021 marks the 50th anniversary of independence for us, the Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority of ICT Division is going to organize “Golden Jubilee Bangladesh Concert 2022” to celebrate just that.
We have seen and experienced the songs of Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra during the birth of Bangladesh in 1971. It strongly motivated and energized our freedom fighters to sacrifice everything for the sake of a free and proud country. Concert for Bangladesh by famous world artists George Harrison and Pandit Ravi Shankar wholeheartedly supported the demand for an independent Bangladesh with a greater cause on August 1, 1971 at Madison Square Garden, New York. Over 40,000 people were present at the concert and a huge amount of funds was raised in support of Bangladesh.
After 5 decades of independence, the Bangladesh Government’s Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Division is organizing the Golden Jubilee Bangladesh Concert with the support of the Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority, the United Nations Development Programme, the US Embassy in Bangladesh, Cyber Teens Foundation and along with sponsors – the City Bank limited, our title sponsor, Walton Group – another core sponsor, United Group, Bkash, City Group, Daraz, ADN Telecom, and Abul Khair Steel .
The concert is going to take place with the intent of gathering a global audience and celebrating Bangladesh’s golden anniversary through a live, one-night-only musical performance on May 6, 2022 at the Madison Square Garden in New York. World famous metal band Scorpions and Bangladeshi band Chirkut are set to perform in it.
It is also our pleasure that Cyber Teens Foundation has proudly become a partner of the Golden Jubilee Bangladesh Concert.
The Hi-Tech Park Authority and UNDP signed agreements on this program. All the generated profit from this concert will be handed over to UNDP to support underdeveloped countries in cyber security and secure internet for children & teenagers.
At the press conference organized by the ICT Division at the Bangladesh Computer Council auditorium on April 2, 2022, the Hon’ble State Minister for ICT Division Mr. Zunaid Ahmed Palak, Managing Director of Hi-Tech Park Authority Mr. Bikarna Kumar Ghosh, Hon’ble Resident Representative of UNDP Sardar Md. Asaduzzaman, Additional Managing Director of City bank Mr. Sheikh Muhammad Maruf, Mr. Sadat Rahman Founder of Cyber Teens Foundation, and Additional Secretary of ICT Division Mr. Khairul Amin (Routine Duty) were present.
